FORT BLISS, TX – October 4, 2026 (STL.News) Hundreds of U.S. military personnel and additional equipment are being moved into Texas’ Rio Grande Valley as federal authorities reinforce border operations following an increase in attempted illegal activity that included a Sept. 26 exchange of gunfire involving U.S. Coast Guard personnel.
